Independant Podiatry Practitioner

I have been in general practice as a clinical podiatrist serving the people of North Staffordshire for almost 40 years. I have held a part time post in the biomechanics department at Staffordshire University since 1999 and I am now a visiting Research Fellow. I have been instrumental in the production of the MSc in Clinical Podiatric Biomechanics. I am an inaugural fellow of the College of Podiatry (FCPodM) in the UK and also of the Faculty of Podiatric Medicine of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow (FFPM RCPSG).

I hold a Master of Science Degree (MSc) in Sports Injury and Therapy and have a keen interest in clinical biomechanics. My academic, research and his clinical experience has led him to work with elite athletes and national and international sports teams. I am the podiatrist to Stoke City Football Club and was part of the medical team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow in 2014.

I have a research interest in footwear and the biomechanics of the at-risk foot and I have worked in a variety of related clinical situations eg AR hospital in Chennai, India and the orthopaedic and footwear department of New Cross hospital Wolverhampton UK. I have had a teaching and clinical association with Hong Kong for some years.

I have been the Chair of the council of the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists and the Board of Governors of the College of Podiatry from July 2014 to July 2016. I have an interest in international issues in podiatry and I am the current chairman of the International Recruitment Committee (IRC) of the International Federation of Podiatrists (FIP- IPF) I am also associated with a company called Dynastat biomechanics whose main interest is in developing diagnostic and clinical tools for podiatry.
