More recently Lynne is part of the National Advisory Panel for Care Home Diabetes and took part in a panel discussion at the Diabetes professional Care Conference in November 2020; ‘Key ways to improve outcomes for older adults living with diabetes’. She is passionate about promoting the ideal that people living with diabetes, regardless of their age or circumstances, should be treated and cared for in such a way that their quality of life is maintained or even improved. One main area of focus for Lynne is to ensure that adults living with diabetes have the best possible chance to keep their feet healthy and avoid foot problems or surgical treatment. Hence the ‘Hands on Feet’ training portfolio continues to grow and develop; helping health, care, beauty and wellness practitioners to improve their skills and confidence whilst following best practice.

Gemma qualified as a Podiatrist in 2004 from Huddersfield University and has experience in both the NHS and private fields. Gemma completed her Master’s in Sports Biomechanics in 2008 and has spent 4 years working in France as a Biomechanics Podiatrist. Gemma has in her career been invited to conduct presentations all over the UK, as well as overseas, discussing the influence Biomechanics has in modern day practice. She has also lectured at the Royal Society of Medicine on the effects diabetes has on elite athletes Gemma is the clinical lead at a private podiatry clinic in Essex and also works with DUET diabetes Ltd to develop and run their ‘hands on feet’ diabetes training portfolio.
