Karin has Charcot Marie Tooth disease and is a Trustee of the charity CMT UK . For the last 22 years she has looked after the younger members of the charity by fundraising and organising adventure activity weekends for the 11-18 year olds with the disease. She mentors and supports the youngsters as well as taking them on annual trips where they can experience canoeing, climbing, caving and many other exciting activities. For many of the children this is the only time they ever get to speak to someone else with the same disease and they are encouraged to push themselves as well as share their CMT stories and help each other.

Karin is also a Samaritan listener as well as a qualified counsellor specialising in Neuro-linguistic Programming .
